Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 400 g semi-fat quark
- 320 g semi-coarse flour
- 150 g fresh strawberries (thawed can also be used)
- 50 g butter
- 30 g powdered sugar
Instructions
- 1Crack 2 eggs into a large bowl, add quark, and mix thoroughly. Add flour to the resulting mixture and knead into a firm, elastic dough, then let it rest in the bowl for 10 minutes.
- 2Meanwhile, wash the strawberries and remove their stems. Then, fill a large pot with 2–3 liters of water and begin heating the water over high heat.
- 3From the rested dough, start cutting off pieces weighing approximately 60–63 g and shape them into balls. From each ball, form a flat disc about 1 cm thick, place a strawberry in the center of the disc, and wrap the dough around it to form a firm ball again.
- 4Once the water in the pot begins to boil, add the prepared dumplings and cook them for 11–12 minutes over medium heat until they float to the surface.
- 5After cooking, remove the dumplings from the pot and divide them into desired portions.
- 6Take a small saucepan and melt the butter in it over low heat, stirring constantly (this will take about 1 minute).
- 7Pour the melted butter over all the dumplings, then sprinkle them with powdered sugar and serve.
Tip
Alternatively, you can first cook the dumplings, cool them in a bowl of cold water, and then pan-fry them over medium heat for 6–7 minutes with melted butter.
