SYRUP INGREDIENTS
- 200 g fresh ginger
- 500 g granulated sugar
- zest from ½ lemon
LEMONADE INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- ice
- sparkling water
SYRUP INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Peel the ginger and slice it thinly.
- 2In a saucepan, combine 500 ml of water, sugar, and lemon zest, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook until it reaches a syrup consistency. Then add the sliced ginger.
- 3Let it simmer for another 2 minutes and then let the ginger syrup cool to room temperature.
LEMONADE INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Pour 5 tablespoons of ginger syrup and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice into a 300 ml glass. Add a few ice cubes and top with 200 ml of chilled sparkling water. Stir.
Tip
You can add lemon slices and a few slices of fresh ginger to the glass.
If you strain the ginger syrup, you can store it in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for later use.

Tip: For an especially delicate flavor, you can finish the sauce with a drop of lemon juice. Homemade spaetzle or wide noodles, which perfectly soak up the creamy sauce, are an excellent side dish.
