DOUGH
- 250 g medium coarse flour
- 125 g softened butter and butter for greasing the mold

Dough preparation
- 1Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grease the mold with butter and dust with coarse flour.
- 2Place flour, butter, eggs, sugar, and baking powder into a stand mixer bowl and mix for 3 minutes at medium speed.
- 3Divide the dough into 2 parts and roll each out on a floured surface to the size of the baking mold. Place one part into the mold. Spread the entire apple filling evenly over the dough and cover it with the second part of the dough.
- 4Place into the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown. Let the finished cake cool in the mold. Before serving, generously sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar.
Filling preparation
- 1Cut the apples into 1 cm cubes. Slit the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with the tip of a knife. Place apples, vanilla seeds, sugar, and starch into a bowl and mix thoroughly.

For preparation, you will need a 25 cm diameter cake pan and a stand mixer with a dough hook.

Tip: For an especially delicate flavor, you can finish the sauce with a drop of lemon juice. Homemade spaetzle or wide noodles, which perfectly soak up the creamy sauce, are an excellent side dish.
