INGREDIENTS
- approx. 2 kg of red currants
- 800 g of sugar
YOU WILL ALSO NEED
- Preserving jars
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Juice the currants to obtain 1 kg of juice. Pour the juice into a saucepan, add sugar, mix, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to half and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 2Then perform a gelling test – pour a teaspoon of jam onto a clean plate. If the jam sets, it is ready and can be filled into sterilized jars. If it does not set, cook for another 4 minutes.
- 3Then fill the jam into sterilized dry jars. Seal them and place them upside down. Let them cool and store.
Tip
Unopened jam will last at least a year.
