INGREDIENTS
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk (approx. 400 g)
- 50 g of butter
- 160-200 g of grated coconut and 100 g of grated coconut for coating
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Melt the butter in the microwave or in a small saucepan. Scrape the contents of the can of condensed milk into a bowl, add the butter, and sprinkle in 150-160 g of coconut. Mix everything together and let it firm up and harden in the fridge for at least an hour or until the next day.
- 2After removing from the fridge, check the mixture to see if you can shape it into balls. If not, thicken it with a little more coconut, but you shouldn't need more than 40-50 g.
- 3Lay two paper napkins on top of each other and sprinkle the coconut intended for coating on them. Use a teaspoon to cut pieces from the hardened coconut mixture, shape them into balls with your fingertips, even if not perfectly, and toss them into the prepared coconut. Coat them and only now shape the final form of the balls, and if necessary, roll them in coconut once more. Place them in the cups and store them in a cool place.
- 4Due to the ingredients used, the balls are meant for quick consumption, which usually isn't a problem. They are unlikely to survive the post-Christmas phase called 'You don't eat this at all!'.
Tip
You will need small paper cups for preparation.
