INGREDIENTS
- 5 bread rolls
- 400 g smoked ham
- 6 eggs size M
- 125 g fresh spinach
- 1 handful of arugula
- 50 g melted butter + for greasing the dish
- 200 ml semi-skimmed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives
- 1 clove of garlic
- Salt
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Preheat the oven to 150 degrees. Cut the bread rolls into smaller cubes. Transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and dry in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally. Once the bread rolls are dried, set them aside and increase the oven temperature to 180 degrees.
- 2Cut the meat into small cubes. Blanch the spinach with hot water and immediately cool it under cold water to stop the cooking process. Squeeze out the excess water and chop. Also, chop the arugula into smaller pieces.
- 3Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Mix the yolks with milk. Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and crushed garlic. Mix the mixture in a bowl with the bread rolls. Add the chopped meat, spinach, arugula, and chives. Pour in the melted butter and mix everything together. Finally, gently fold in the egg whites.
- 4Grease a baking dish with butter, fill it with the stuffing, and bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown. Serve with pickles.
Tip
Try the stuffing with wild garlic as well. In the recipe, simply replace the arugula with wild garlic and then do not add kitchen garlic.
