INGREDIENTS

  • 600 g quality ground beef
  • 1 Camembert cheese (120 g)
  • 2 bunches of spring onions, 120 g each
  • 1 egg
  • 2 sprigs of marjoram
  • 20 leaves of Thai basil
  • 6 tablespoons coarse-grained mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Salt
  • Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

    Wash and clean the spring onions. Finely chop one onion and the herbs. In a bowl, mix the meat, chopped spring onion, egg, marjoram, and 3/4 of the basil. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.

    Divide the meat mixture into 4 equally sized parts and form patties with a diameter of 11 cm. Cut the Camembert into quarters to create 4 triangles. Make a well in the center of each meat patty and insert the cheese, wrapping it thoroughly with the meat. It is important to have the cheese completely enclosed in the meat to prevent it from leaking on the grill.

    Heat the grill to 230 - 270 degrees. Grill the meat for 4 - 5 minutes on each side. Grill the whole spring onions on the edge of the grill where the heat is not as intense. Turn them occasionally.

    Meanwhile, mix the coarse-grained mustard with honey and the remaining basil.

    Serve the meat coated with the mustard mixture and grilled spring onions. The overall taste is wonderfully complemented by young mustard sprouts. As a side dish, toasted bread or baked potatoes are suitable.
