INGREDIENTS
- 600 g puff pastry
- 400 g American wood-smoked bacon
- 10 sprigs of fresh thyme
- Black sesame
- 1 egg
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 150 g grated cheddar
YOU WILL ALSO NEED
- Baking paper
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius - top and bottom heat.
- 2Roll out the puff pastry on baking paper into 2 equal rectangles of approximately 20x30 cm. Beat the egg with thyme leaves and pepper. Brush the rolled-out dough and sprinkle with cheddar.
- 3Cover with another piece of baking paper and press the cheese into the dough. You can use a rolling pin or just your palms. Carefully peel off the paper and cut the dough into 2 cm wide strips using a rotary or regular knife.
- 4Cut each slice of bacon lengthwise in half. Place bacon on each strip, fold the dough strip with bacon so that the brushed part with bacon is on the outside.
- 5Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- 6Twist each strip into a spiral and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Leave enough space around the sticks. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes until crispy.
