INGREDIENTS

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 500 g ground pork
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 egg
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Oil
  • Sliced cheese to taste (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried cumin

INSTRUCTIONS

    In a large bowl, mix ground beef and pork. Add chopped onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.

    Mix thoroughly with your hands. If the mixture is too dry, you can add a little water or oil.

    Shape the meat into patties approximately 2 cm thick. If desired, you can add a slice of cheese to each pljeskavica and wrap it inside.

    Heat a grill or pan to medium temperature. If grilling, brush it with oil.

    Grill or fry the pljeskavica on both sides for about 4-5 minutes until well cooked inside. You can also bake them in a preheated oven at 200 °C for 15-20 minutes.

    Serve the finished pljeskavica with ajvar.
