For the Dough
- 250 g white wheat plain flour
- 150 g butter (room temperature)
- 1 egg
- A pinch of salt
For the Apple Filling
- 4 medium apples of any kind
- 50 g white granulated sugar
- 37 g vanilla pudding powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon white powdered sugar
Ingredients for the TIP
- Sour cream
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, mix plain flour, butter, egg, and a pinch of salt to make a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in cling film, place it in the fridge, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 2Meanwhile, prepare the apple filling: Wash the apples, remove the cores, and slice them into thin wedges with the skin on. Transfer the sliced apples to a large bowl, add granulated sugar, pudding powder, cinnamon, and lemon juice, and mix everything together.
- 3Preheat the oven to 170 °C, prepare a pie tin with a diameter of approximately 24 cm, and line it with baking paper. Then remove the baking paper from the tin and place it on the work surface.
- 4Take the chilled dough out of the fridge, remove the cling film, place it in the center of the prepared baking paper, and roll it out with a rolling pin into a circular sheet about 3–4 mm thick. Transfer the rolled-out dough along with the baking paper into the pie tin.
- 5Layer the prepared apple filling in the center of the dough in the tin, spread it over the entire surface of the tin, and then fold a few centimeters of the dough edges over it.
- 6Place the tin in the preheated oven and bake the pie for 45–50 minutes at 170 °C.
- 7After baking, let the pie cool for at least 30 minutes.
- 8Sprinkle the cooled pie with powdered sugar, cut it into 8 servings, and serve.
Tip
We recommend serving the pie with sour cream.
