Potato Layer
- 1 kg of potatoes
- 120 g of milk
- 55 g of butter
Filling
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 150 g of onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 2 large carrots
- 2 stalks of celery
- 600 g of lamb
- 230 ml of chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- A handful of fresh rosemary
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- 140 g of frozen peas
Instructions
- 1Peel the potatoes and set them to boil.
- 2After boiling the potatoes, drain the water and add 120 g of milk, 55 g of butter, salt, and pepper. Blend everything thoroughly into a creamy mashed potato.
- 3Chop the onion, carrot, and celery into small pieces. Cut the lamb into larger pieces. Heat olive oil in a pan and add the meat. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Add the chopped vegetables and crushed garlic to the meat and mix.
- 4Add 40 g of tomato paste and 230 ml of chicken broth. Stir and let the mixture cook. After 5 minutes, add the frozen peas, salt, pepper, thyme, and cook until the meat is tender.
- 5Transfer the meat mixture into a baking dish and layer the mashed potatoes on top. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes at 180 degrees. After baking, sprinkle the dish with fresh rosemary and serve.
