Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 400 g semi-fat curd cheese
- 320 g semi-coarse flour
- 150 g fresh strawberries (can also use thawed)
- 50 g butter
- 30 g powdered sugar
Instructions
- 1Crack 2 eggs into a large bowl, add the curd cheese, and mix well. Add the flour to the mixture and work it into a firm, elastic dough, then let it rest in the bowl for 10 minutes.
- 2Meanwhile, wash the strawberries and remove the stems. Then fill a large pot with 2–3 liters of water and start heating it on high heat.
- 3Cut pieces from the rested dough weighing approximately 60–63 g and shape them into balls. Flatten each ball into a disc about 1 cm thick, place a strawberry in the center, and wrap the dough around it to form a firm ball again.
- 4Once the water in the pot starts boiling, place the prepared dumplings in it and cook them for 11–12 minutes on medium heat until they float to the surface.
- 5After cooking, remove the dumplings from the pot and divide them into desired portions.
- 6Take a small saucepan and melt the butter over low heat, stirring constantly (this will take about 1 minute).
- 7Pour the melted butter over all the dumplings, then sprinkle them with powdered sugar and serve.
Tip
You can also first cook the dumplings, cool them in a bowl of cold water, and then fry them on medium heat for 6–7 minutes together with the melted butter.
