INGREDIENTS
- 500 g ground meat (mix of pork and beef with up to 20% fat content)
- 1 egg
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Salt
- A pinch of ground pepper
- 4 large white peppers
- 2 cans of chopped tomatoes
- 200 ml chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 3 whole allspice berries
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Take the meat out of the fridge 30 minutes in advance. Chop the onion and garlic finely.
- 2Preheat the oven to top and bottom heating elements and set to 180 °C.
- 3In a bowl, mix the meat, egg, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper.
- 4Wash the peppers and cut out the stem and remove the seeds. Fill the peppers with the meat mixture. You can pierce the tips of the peppers to make filling easier. Pack the meat into the peppers thoroughly.
- 5Place the chopped tomatoes, chicken broth, sugar, and salt in a baking dish. Mix and add the stuffed peppers. Bake for 45 minutes.
- 6Then remove the peppers from the baking dish, add tomato paste to the tomatoes, and blend with a hand blender into a smooth sauce. Taste and add salt or sugar if needed.
- 7Place the peppers back into the sauce and serve with rice or pasta.
