INGREDIENTS

  • 230 g butter
  • 200 g brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or dried vanilla pod
  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 g dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • Freeze-dried fruit for sprinkling (optional)

YOU WILL ALSO NEED

  • Parchment paper

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1
Preheat the oven to 180 °C and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 2
In a large bowl, cream the butter with both sugars until smooth and fluffy. This takes about 3-5 minutes.
  • 3
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • 4
Then mix in the vanilla extract or dried vanilla pod.
  • 5
In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • 6
Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture until the dough comes together.
  • 7
Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • 8
Form the dough into walnut-sized balls and place them on the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 9
Leave enough space between them as they will spread during baking.
  • 10
Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are golden but the center is still slightly soft.
  • 11
Let them cool on the sheet for a while to firm up, then transfer them to a wire rack. Sprinkle with freeze-dried strawberries.
