INGREDIENTS FOR THE CAKE BASE

  • 220 g of smooth whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 50 g of Dutch cocoa
  • 4 tablespoons of liquid honey
  • Salt
  • 350 ml of water

INGREDIENTS FOR THE GLAZE

  • 40 g of Dutch cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons of liquid honey
  • 80 ml of water

INSTRUCTIONS

    Preheat the oven to 185 °C and prepare a baking pan measuring 25 cm × 30 cm.

    In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, 50 g of Dutch cocoa, and a pinch of salt. Add 350 ml of water and 4 tablespoons of honey to the mixture and work into a smooth, thinner batter.

    Pour the prepared batter into the prepared baking pan, place it in the oven, and bake for 35–37 minutes at 180–185 °C.

    Then remove the baking pan from the oven and let the baked cake base cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile, mix all the ingredients for the glaze in a bowl.

    After the specified time, spread the cooled cake base with the prepared glaze, cut the finished cake into 8 portions, and serve.
