DISH
- 2 bell peppers
- 4 black olives
- 12 green olives
- 500 g spaghetti
- 1 pack of sliced cheese
- 1/2 spinach purée
- Salt
TOMATO SAUCE
- 1 onion
- 1 tomato paste
- 800 g crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 pack of mozzarella
OTHER PASTA COLORS
- A handful of mashed blueberries ensures a beautiful blue-purple color
- 1 tablespoon of turmeric colors the pasta yellow
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon for orange-brown pasta
- 4 tablespoons of pickled beetroot color the pasta red
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Place about half of the spinach purée into a large pot for pasta. If it's frozen, that's fine, it will thaw in boiling water. Pour water over the spinach so that there is still enough room in the pot for the spaghetti (there should be at least 5 cm of space from the edge of the pot). Salt the water and bring it to a boil.
- 2Place the spaghetti into the boiling water with the spinach purée and cook according to the time indicated on the package.
- 3After cooking, drain the spaghetti. If you don't like the remnants of spinach purée on the pasta, you can rinse them to remove the purée.
- 4Cut 8 circles and 8 smaller triangles from the sliced cheese using a knife or a cutter, which will represent the monster's teeth. Cut 8 slightly smaller circles from the peppers and halve the black and green olives.
- 5For the final serving, be inspired by the picture. Place a portion of pasta and layer the prepared tomato sauce on top to form a circle, just like in the picture. On the top part of the sauce, place two cheese circles side by side, place pepper circles on them, and on each pepper, place half a black olive. Arrange the halves of green olives side by side as a mouth and place the cheese triangles underneath them to represent teeth.
TOMATO SAUCE INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Chop the onion finely and sauté in olive oil. As soon as the onion becomes translucent, add the pressed or finely chopped garlic. Mix everything together.
- 2Add the tomato paste and sauté the mixture for about a minute over medium heat.
- 3Then add the crushed tomatoes to the mixture, stir, and let it simmer together for at least 5 minutes.
- 4Season with salt and pepper and finally add grated mozzarella to the sauce.
TIP
- 1The pasta doesn't have to be just green; nature offers many other magical colors that are pleasing to the eye. For red spaghetti, add a few tablespoons of pickled red beet instead of spinach to the water. Ground turmeric colors the pasta yellow. You can achieve a beautiful blue-purple color by adding a handful of mashed blueberries to the boiling water. Cinnamon will ensure orange-brown pasta.
