INGREDIENTS

  • 200 g green bean pods
  • 100 g whole bacon
  • 2 large shallots
  • 5 large cloves of garlic
  • 50 g almond slices
  • A few sprigs of thyme
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

    Peel the shallots and garlic. Slice the shallots into half-moons, 4 cloves of garlic into slices, and crush 1 clove in a garlic press. Rinse the beans and trim the unsightly ends. Heat oil with butter in a pan and sauté the shallots until golden. Add the garlic slices and let them turn golden. Set aside.

    Cut the bacon into cubes and fry until crispy. Return the shallots and garlic to the pan and add the beans. Season with salt and pepper.

    Mix in the honey combined with white wine vinegar, chopped herbs, and 1 clove of crushed garlic. Sauté together for about 5-7 minutes. The beans should remain crunchy inside.

    Meanwhile, dry roast the almond slices. Once the beans are ready, mix them with the almonds and serve.
