INGREDIENTS FOR THE DOUGH
- 300 g plain flour
- 125 g butter (softened)
- 100 ml still water
- A pinch of salt
INGREDIENTS FOR THE APPLE FILLING
- 5 apples
- 100 g butter
- 150 g sugar
- Ground cinnamon
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Put the flour with a pinch of salt in a bowl. Then add softened butter (meaning the butter is soft but not melted). Finally, add water. Knead the dough thoroughly and set it aside in the fridge for a while.
- 2Remove the core and peel from the apples, then cut them into quarters.
- 3For the caramel, melt the butter in a pot and gradually add sugar. Stir until you achieve a caramel brown color (be careful not to let the caramel burn).
- 4Once the caramel is ready, pour it into a pie dish or pan (it must be ovenproof) and then add the sliced apples. Place the prepared dish or pan with apples to cook for 10 minutes so the caramel is well absorbed. (At this point, you can add cinnamon).
- 5Once the cooking time is up, roll out the dough and cover the apples, tucking the edges inside. Place in the oven for 20 minutes at 180°C (at least until the dough is baked). After removing from the oven, invert the tart.
