INGREDIENTS FOR THE DOUGH
- 330 g whole wheat flour
- 1 sachet dried yeast
- 30 g olive oil
- 7 g salt
INGREDIENTS FOR THE TOMATO SAUCE
- 1 can peeled tomatoes
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 handful basil leaves
- Salt
INGREDIENTS FOR PIZZA TOPPING
- 200 g turkey ham
- 2 pcs mozzarella
- Aged cheese (e.g., Grana Padano)
- Black olives
- Arugula

METHOD
- 1Sift the flour into a bowl, add the other ingredients and 260 ml of lukewarm water. Mix into a smooth dough. This will take 5 minutes in a food processor, a little longer by hand. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
- 2Meanwhile, prepare the tomato sauce. Place the peeled tomatoes in a saucepan and add the chopped garlic. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and stir regularly. After a few minutes, the sauce will begin to thicken. Once the sauce is thick enough, remove it from the heat.
- 3Preheat the oven to the highest temperature it allows, usually 250 °C, select top and bottom heat, and place a baking sheet or pizza stone inside.
- 4Dust the work surface with flour, turn out the risen dough onto it, and divide it into 3 equal parts. Form each part into a ball. Place each ball in the center of a piece of baking paper and shape the pizza with your hands. Press the dough from the center outwards to the edges. Spread the shaped pizza with tomato sauce, then top with mozzarella and ham. Transfer the pizza, still on the baking paper, to the preheated baking sheet, immediately place it in the oven, and bake for 10-12 minutes. Watch carefully during the last 2 minutes.
- 5Serve with arugula, black olives, and slices of aged cheese.
Tip
Don't be afraid to involve children in cooking and let them decorate the pizza to their liking. For example, they can create a face on the pizza using olives. There are no limits to imagination, and by involving them, you will surely win them over to this healthier version of the popular Italian delicacy. Enjoy!
