INGREDIENTS

  • 250 g mozzarella
  • 2 eggs
  • approx. 200 g breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 200 g sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 clove garlic
  • A handful of chopped Thai basil
  • 2 teaspoons ground smoked paprika
  • Chili pepper
  • Salt
  • Oil for frying

INSTRUCTIONS

    Cut the mozzarella into larger sticks with an edge of about 1 cm. Coat in beaten salted egg and then in breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning. Freeze for 30 minutes. Then coat again in egg and breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs firmly into the cheese during both coatings to prevent it from leaking during frying. Freeze for an hour.

    Meanwhile, prepare the dip. Mix sour cream with ketchup, crushed garlic, and smoked paprika. Salt and add chili pepper to taste. Chill in the refrigerator.

    Fry the frozen cheese sticks until golden in hot oil. After frying, place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve with the chilled dip.
