- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 300 g plain wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 70 ml olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
INGREDIENTS FOR THE FILLING
- 5 tablespoons ketchup
- 200 g chicken ham slices (min. 95% meat)
- 200 g Eidam cheese slices
INGREDIENTS FOR BRUSHING
- 1 egg size M
- 2 tablespoons semi-skimmed milk
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
YOU WILL ALSO NEED
- Baking paper
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1First, prepare the dough: In a bowl, combine yeast, milk, and sugar and let the yeast activate (5–10 minutes). Then add flour, oregano, and salt, and pour in the oil. Knead the dough until it comes together and is beautifully smooth (you can use a kitchen mixer for kneading at this step). Then cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 2Meanwhile, prepare a baking sheet and line it with baking paper.
- 3Divide the dough into 4 parts. Roll each part into a rectangle and divide it into 3 triangles. Spread ketchup on each triangle, add cheese and ham, and roll from the wider side of the triangle towards the narrower side. Place the rolled rolls with the pointed part of the dough down so they don't open during baking. Repeat with the remaining dough.
- 4Cover the prepared rolls with a cloth and let them rest for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 190 °C and in a small bowl, mix the egg, milk, and salt. Brush the rested rolls with this mixture using a pastry brush and bake for 32–38 minutes at 190–195 °C. After removing, let them cool for at least 30 minutes.
