INGREDIENTS
- 330 g of white wheat all-purpose flour
- 100 g of butter (room temperature)
- 120 g of low-fat quark from a tub (room temperature)
- 2 eggs size M
- 200 g of strawberry jam
- 30 g of white powdered sugar
YOU WILL ALSO NEED
- Cling film
- Parchment paper
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Take a larger bowl, add 300 g of all-purpose flour, butter, quark, and 1 egg, and work into a dough.
- 2Wrap the prepared dough in cling film, place it in the refrigerator, and let it chill for 30–45 minutes.
- 3Dust your work surface with the remaining 30 g of all-purpose flour. Then take the chilled dough out of the refrigerator, place it on the floured work surface, and roll it out to a thickness of about 2 mm using a rolling pin.
- 4Preheat the oven to 170–175 °C and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 5Cut the prepared sheet of dough into squares approximately 6 cm × 6 cm (the dough should yield about 14 squares).
- 6Now start forming the turnovers: Place 1 teaspoon of strawberry jam in the center of each square of dough, then join the opposite corners of the square and place the finished turnover on the lined baking sheet.
- 7Once you have used all the dough and strawberry jam, crack 1 egg into a small bowl, beat it with a fork, and brush the resulting mixture over all the turnovers on the baking sheet.
- 8Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the turnovers for 15–17 minutes at 170–175 °C.
- 9Sprinkle the baked turnovers with powdered sugar and serve.
