Ingredients
- 275 g pre-rolled puff pastry
- 5 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 100 g gouda slices
- 100 g chicken ham
- 1 egg
Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 180 °C, prepare a baking sheet, and line it with baking paper.
- 2Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into 20 equally sized squares.
- 3In a small bowl, mix ketchup with oregano and basil, and spread the resulting mixture on each pastry square, leaving about 2 mm of the edges dry.
- 4Now, place slices of gouda and ham on 10 squares in such a way that they do not touch the edges of the pastry and do not overlap the ketchup mixture. Cover these prepared squares with the remaining ones, with the spread side facing down, and arrange the resulting pockets on the lined baking sheet.
- 5Crack 1 egg into a cup and mix it with 1 tablespoon of water. Use a pastry brush to coat each pocket with the mixture, then make several cuts on top with a knife.
- 6Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the pockets for 25–30 minutes at 180–190 °C.
- 7Remove the baked pockets from the oven, let them cool for at least 30 minutes, and then serve.
