Ingredients

  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 250 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon distilled vinegar (8%)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 230 °C and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    Place all the ingredients in a large bowl, mix them, and lightly work them together so that the ingredients combine but the dough remains lumpy. Be careful not to overwork the dough.

    Turn the dough out onto the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a round, flatter loaf with a diameter of about 15 cm and a height of about 6 cm. Make two deep cuts in the shape of a cross on top of the loaf with a knife.

    Place the baking sheet with the loaf in the oven and bake for 10 minutes at 225⁠–⁠230 °C.

    Reduce the oven temperature to 195⁠–⁠200 °C and bake the bread for another 18⁠–⁠20 minutes.

    After baking, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for 30⁠–⁠60 minutes. After this time, it can be served.
