Ingredients

  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 250 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon fermented spirit vinegar (8%)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 230 °C and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

    Place all ingredients into a large bowl, mix them, and lightly work the dough until the ingredients are combined but the dough remains lumpy. Be careful not to overwork the dough.

    Turn the dough out onto the lined baking sheet and shape it into a round, flatter loaf about 15 cm in diameter and 6 cm high. Make two deep cross-shaped cuts on top of the loaf with a knife.

    Place the baking sheet with the loaf into the oven and bake for 10 minutes at 225⁠–⁠230 °C.

    Reduce the oven temperature to 195⁠–⁠200 °C and bake the bread for another 18⁠–⁠20 minutes.

    After baking, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for 30⁠–⁠60 minutes. After this time, you can serve it.
