Ingredients
- 300 g wheat plain flour
- 12 g baking powder
- 100 g granulated sugar
- 8 g vanilla sugar
- 100 g finely ground poppy seeds
- 120 ml sunflower oil
- 450 ml semi-skimmed milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 170–175 °C, prepare a baking tray measuring 27 cm × 30 cm, and line it with baking paper.
- 2Take a larger bowl, add plain flour, baking powder, white granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, and ground poppy seeds, and mix.
- 3Add sunflower oil, milk, eggs, and strawberry jam to the mixture and work into a thinner batter.
- 4Pour the finished batter onto the lined tray and spread it thoroughly. Then place the tray in the oven and bake for 30–33 minutes at 170–175 °C.
- 5Remove the tray from the oven and let the poppy seed cake cool on the tray on the work surface for at least 30 minutes.
- 6After cooling, remove the poppy seed cake from the tray, cut it into 12 pieces, and serve.
