INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (to taste)
- A pinch of salt
- 0.5 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 0.5 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
- Fresh fruit to taste
- Honey for sweetening
- 0.5 cup of rice (preferably leftover rice)
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.
- 2In a pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil, add the rinsed rice and a pinch of salt. Reduce the heat to low and let the rice simmer slowly until it absorbs all the water, about 15 minutes.
- 3Add 1 cup of milk to the cooked rice and stir. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat. Cook on low heat until the porridge thickens and the rice is soft (about 10-15 minutes). Stir frequently to prevent the porridge from burning. Add sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix well.
- 4Finally, garnish with fresh fruit to taste.
