INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium cucumber (about 250 g)
  • 10 g fresh mint (optional)
  • 10 g fresh dill
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 150 g white yogurt (3.5% fat)
  • Juice of ½ small lemon
  • Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

    Grate the cucumber finely* into a small bowl, salt it, and let it sit for 8–10 minutes until the salt draws out the excess water.

    Meanwhile, finely chop the mint and dill, peel the garlic, and press it. Put the chopped mint, dill, and pressed garlic into a medium-sized bowl.

    After the specified time, squeeze the grated cucumber and add it to the bowl with the mint, dill, and garlic. Then add the yogurt to the bowl and mix everything together. Add salt and lemon juice to taste and mix again.

    Serve the finished tzatziki immediately.

    * You don't necessarily have to grate the cucumber. You can simply cut it into small cubes (about 0.5 cm × 0.5 cm), salt it, let it release water, and use it as described in the instructions.
