INGREDIENTS

  • 500 ml sangria
  • 80 ml brandy
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 orange
  • 10 pieces cloves
  • 1 whole cinnamon
  • ground cinnamon
  • nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1
In a small saucepan, add sugar, cloves, whole cinnamon, a pinch of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of grated nutmeg. Mix the entire mixture and let it caramelize.
  • 2
Then add brandy, juice from one orange, and finally pour in the sangria. Bring everything to a boil, and once the first bubbles appear, remove from the heat. I like the mulled wine fresher like this, but if you prefer a stronger spice flavor, you can let it simmer for a few more minutes on low heat.
Tip
For a milder taste, you can strain the mulled wine, and then add a slice of orange, apple, or berries to the glasses, such as blackberries, which work great. Enjoy the mulled wine best right after cooking.
