For the Baked Oatmeal
- 1 large apple
- 20 g walnuts
- 300 ml milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon honey or syrup
- 80 g fine oat flakes
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
For the Quark Cream
- 100 g semi-skimmed quark
- 40 g plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ingredient Preparation
- 1Wash the apple and grate it on a coarse grater. Chop the nuts finely. Preheat the oven to 180 °C with top and bottom heat.
Dough Preparation and Baking
- 1Whisk the egg with milk and sweetener. Add the oats, grated apple, chopped nuts, cinnamon, baking powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
- 2Divide the mixture into two baking dishes, approximately 14 cm in diameter, and let it rest while the oven preheats.
- 3Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. After removing from the oven, let the oatmeal rest for a while; it will continue to set and thicken.
Cream Preparation and Serving
- 1For the cream, mix the quark with yogurt and vanilla extract. Sweeten with honey or syrup to taste.
- 2Serve the baked oatmeal with the prepared cream, garnished with fresh apple slices and sprinkled with walnuts.
