INGREDIENTS

  • 20 older rohlíky
  • 500 ml milk
  • 100 g butter and butter for greasing the mugs
  • 5 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

METHOD

    Cut the rohlíky into 1 cm cubes. Separate the eggs into whites and yolks. Whisk the egg whites into stiff peaks. Lightly whisk the yolks with milk. Melt the butter in a saucepan.

    In a bowl, mix the rohlíky, milk with yolks, melted butter, and parsley, add salt, nutmeg, and two pinches of freshly ground pepper. Stir. Gradually and carefully fold in the egg white peaks.

    Grease the mugs with butter and fill them two-thirds full with the dough.

    Place the filled mugs into a pot, pour hot water up to two-thirds of their height, bring to a boil, reduce heat to one-third, and cover with a lid. Cook for 12 minutes.

    Remove the mugs and let them cool briefly. Using a knife, cut around the inside edge of each dumpling and turn them out onto a cutting board. Slice the dumplings.
     
Tip
For this dish, you will need 6 straight-sided mugs (9–10 cm high).
