Preparation method
First, preheat the oven to 200 °C and prepare a deep baking dish with a lid (or one that can be tightly covered with aluminum foil), in which you will bake the tea.
Wash the apples, core them, and cut them into cubes with the skin on (approx. 0.5 cm or as large as you wouldn't mind having them in the tea). Peel the oranges and cut them into pieces the same size as the apples. Clean the ginger and slice it. Then put the chopped fruit into the baking dish, sprinkle with sugar, and add cinnamon, cloves, and lemon juice. Thoroughly mix the mixture, cover the baking dish, place it in the preheated oven, and bake for 40 minutes at 180 °C. After this time, remove the lid, reduce the temperature to 160 °C, and bake for another 10 minutes.
While the tea is baking, prepare canning jars with a total volume of approx. 300 ml. Their size depends on how you want to consume the tea or if you want to give it as a gift – in that case, we recommend smaller jars with a maximum of 2 servings per jar. We chose larger ones (approx. 250 ml), as tea is great especially in winter and is consumed quickly.
Chef's tip
When filling, you can also add fresh herbs, such as mint or lemon balm. These will give the tea a beautiful aroma and pleasant taste.
