  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    Pour the couscous into a saucepan or another wide, shallow dish, drizzle with oil, season with salt, and mix with a fork until the grains are evenly coated with fat.

    Pour 400 ml of boiling water, or preferably a gentle broth, over the prepared couscous and cover with a well-fitting lid. Let it rest for 5 minutes. The couscous should remain covered and away from any heat source during this time.

    Fluff and rake the soft couscous with a fork, ideally a two-pronged one, which has a crucial function when portioning meat.
