INGREDIENTS

  • 200 g tofu
  • teaspoon of corn starch or plain flour
  • 2 tablespoons of rapeseed oil
  • stalk of spring onion
  • sesame for sprinkling

SAUCE INGREDIENTS

  • 50 g soy sauce
  • teaspoon of corn starch
  • tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • ½ teaspoon of chili pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 30 ml water

INSTRUCTIONS

    Press as much water as possible from the tofu and thoroughly dry it with a paper towel. Cut it into large cubes, add starch or flour, and coat it well. Heat a large pan, once hot, pour oil into it. Add the coated tofu pieces to the hot oil and fry them on all sides until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

    Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. Mix soy sauce with water, maple syrup, lime juice, pressed garlic, starch, and finely chopped chili pepper.

    Once the tofu is perfectly fried, remove it from the pan and add the chopped spring onion to the pan. Sauté it, stirring occasionally, then add the crispy tofu back. Finally, pour in the sauce and heat for a minute until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu. Serve sprinkled with spring onion and sesame.
