Ingredients
- 8 large pitted plums (approx. 250 g)
- 1 egg, size M
- 200 g sour cream
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 180 ml semi-skimmed milk
- 20 g powdered sugar
- 40 g granulated sugar
- 20 g butter
- 100 ml water
- 50 ml beer
- 200 g white smooth wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 10 g ground poppy seeds
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- 1First, prepare the plum sauce: Place plums, water, sugar, and lemon juice into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low to medium and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once the sauce thickens, remove it from the heat.
- 2Meanwhile, prepare the batter: In a medium bowl, mix eggs, beer, and milk. Add flour, sugar, and baking powder. Work into a smooth batter, then finally mix in poppy seeds and a pinch of salt.
- 3In a large pan, melt 1⁄2 of the butter and fry the pancakes over low to medium heat until golden brown (1–2 minutes per side).
- 4Finally, prepare the cream: In a small bowl, mix it with sugar.
- 5Serve the pancakes with cream and stewed plums.
