  • 8 large pitted plums (approx. 250 g)
  • 1 egg, size M
  • 200 g sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 180 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 20 g powdered sugar
  • 40 g granulated sugar
  • 20 g butter
  • 100 ml water
  • 50 ml beer
  • 200 g white smooth wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 10 g ground poppy seeds
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

    First, prepare the plum sauce: Place plums, water, sugar, and lemon juice into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low to medium and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once the sauce thickens, remove it from the heat.

    Meanwhile, prepare the batter: In a medium bowl, mix eggs, beer, and milk. Add flour, sugar, and baking powder. Work into a smooth batter, then finally mix in poppy seeds and a pinch of salt.

    In a large pan, melt 1⁄2 of the butter and fry the pancakes over low to medium heat until golden brown (1–2 minutes per side).

    Finally, prepare the cream: In a small bowl, mix it with sugar.

    Serve the pancakes with cream and stewed plums.
