DOUGH
- 75 g all-purpose flour
- 45 g butter
- small pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
PLUM JAM FILLING
- 8 tablespoons thick plum jam
- 2 cloves
- piece of star anise
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
DOUGH INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Mix the sifted flour and sugar with salt, add the chilled butter cut into small pieces, and quickly process the dough until it resembles crumbles. Gradually add 1 to 2 tablespoons of ice water to the dough, mixing with a fork each time, until a smooth dough forms. Work quickly to prevent the butter from softening too much, which will make the resulting dough more tender.
- 2Wrap the dough in food film and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
PLUM JAM FILLING INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Grind or crush the cloves and star anise in a mortar and pestle and mix them with the plum jam.
CAKE POP INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Roll out the prepared dough into a thin sheet and cut out circles or other shapes with a diameter of 6 cm. For half of the circles, cut out a decorative center. Place a piece of skewer on the bottom solid circle so that its end reaches the center of the circle and gently press it into the dough. Place a scant teaspoon of plum jam in the center of the circle and cover it with a circle with a cut-out center. Press the edges firmly, create a decorative edge with a skewer or toothpick, and place the cake pop on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with milk and sprinkle with a little granulated sugar.
- 2Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 200°C. After baking, let cool on the baking sheet.
Tip
For preparation, you will need 6 wooden skewers cut in half.
