Ingredients

  • 200 g plain wheat flour
  • 125 g powdered sugar
  • 90 g granulated sugar
  • 30 g Dutch cocoa
  • 10 g baking soda
  • 80 ml rapeseed or sunflower oil
  • 10 g vinegar

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180 °C, prepare a cake tin (⌀ 22 cm) and line it with baking paper.

    Prepare the base: In a large bowl, mix plain flour, granulated sugar, Dutch cocoa, and baking soda. Then add 250 ml of water, 80 ml of oil, and 1 tablespoon of vinegar to the bowl, mix everything, and whisk the mixture into a smooth batter.

    Pour the prepared batter into the lined tin, place the tin in the oven, and bake for 28⁠–⁠30 minutes at 175⁠–⁠180 °C.

    Remove the tin from the oven and let the baked base cool for at least 30 minutes.

    Meanwhile, mix all the ingredients for the glaze in a bowl.

    Once the base has cooled, pour the prepared glaze over it. Then transfer the cake to the refrigerator and let it chill for 30 minutes.

    After chilling, cut the cake into 8 portions and serve.

    You can also serve the cake without the glaze – this will shorten the preparation time.
