Did you know that Czechoslovakia was once a major asparagus producer and Czech asparagus was a renowned delicacy exported worldwide? Its fame was almost buried during 40 years of totalitarianism, when it unjustly gained a reputation as a bourgeois delicacy and was nearly eradicated from Czech tables. Český chřest is a group of enthusiasts striving to restore the glory of Czech asparagus and bring it back to the Czech menu. And thanks to a unique collaboration with Český chřest, Rohlík has its own asparagus field just outside Prague this year. From Wednesday, April 18th, you can buy the legendary Český chřest directly from our field at Rohlík!
