INGREDIENTS FOR THE SANDWICH
- 4 slices of rye bread
- 50 g butter
- 4 slices of Swiss-type cheese
- 200 g sauerkraut
- 200 g beef ham
INGREDIENTS FOR RUSSIAN DRESSING
- 100 g mayonnaise
- 1.5 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon grated horseradish
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Pinch of ground paprika
- Salt
- Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS FOR RUSSIAN DRESSING
- 1Mix all ingredients together and whisk thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLING THE SANDWICH
- 1Butter one side of each slice of bread. Flip one slice over and spread the prepared dressing on the unbuttered side. Place cheese slices (2 slices per slice of bread), 100 g ham, 100 g cabbage on the dressing and pour over the remaining dressing. Cover with the second slice of bread, unbuttered side down. Repeat the same procedure for the second sandwich.
- 2Toast the sandwiches on both sides in a pan (or grill) until golden brown and the cheese is sufficiently melted.
