- 500 g wheat all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons dried yeast
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients and work into a compact dough.
- 2Cover the bowl with the dough with a towel and let it rise on the work surface for 2–2.5 hours, until the dough doubles in size.
- 3About 30 minutes before the end of rising, preheat the oven to 230 °C and simultaneously heat a baking dish with a lid (approx. 15 cm × 20 cm) in which the bread will fit. Instead of a dish, you can also use a pot with a lid suitable for the oven.
- 4After the dough has risen, spread baking paper on the work surface and dust it with a little flour. Carefully shape the dough into a round loaf with as few movements as possible. The dough should be sticky – do not add more flour, otherwise, the bread will lose its fluffiness.
- 5Remove the heated baking dish from the oven and place the loaf inside with the baking paper. Cover the dish with the lid and bake for 30 minutes at 225–230 °C.
- 6After the specified time, remove the lid from the dish and bake the bread for another 10–12 minutes until it turns golden.
- 7Remove the baked bread from the oven and let it cool for 30–60 minutes. Then slice it and serve.
Tip
You can also let the dough rise overnight in the refrigerator (8–12 hours). After removing it from the fridge, immediately transfer it to the heated dish and bake according to the further instructions in the procedure.
