INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- Pinch of baking soda
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Pour sugar into a pan or stainless steel ladle. Heat over low heat until the sugar melts into liquid caramel. Keep stirring to prevent burning.
- 2Once the sugar is completely melted and amber in color, remove it from the heat. Add a pinch of baking soda and stir quickly. The mixture will start to foam and lighten in color.
- 3Immediately pour the mixture onto baking paper or a silicone mat. Gently press it down with, for example, a glass or a metal disc.
- 4If desired, press a shape (star, heart, etc.) into the center with a cookie cutter, but do not press the cutter all the way through.
- 5Let it solidify at room temperature, which only takes a few minutes.
