INGREDIENTS
- 230 g all-purpose flour and flour for dusting the dough
- 30 g granulated sugar
- 6 g baking powder
- 80 g chilled butter and butter for serving
- 130 ml lukewarm milk
- strawberry jam
- pinch of salt
YOU WILL ALSO NEED
- parchment paper
WINE PAIRING
- This dessert pairs perfectly with a sweet or semi-sweet white wine. You can also opt for a sparkling wine.
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Preheat the oven to 220 °C.
- 2Pour the flour into the bowl of a stand mixer, add sugar, baking powder, and salt. Using the dough hook, start mixing at medium speed. Cut the butter into cubes and gradually add it until all of it is incorporated into the dough. The dough will start to resemble coarse breadcrumbs. Reduce the mixer speed and slowly pour in the lukewarm milk until a smooth dough forms.
- 3Flour a work surface and turn out the prepared dough onto it. Roll it out into a 0.5 cm thick disc and cut out circles with a cookie cutter. Rework the remaining dough, roll it out again, and cut out more circles.
- 4Place the circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, put them into the preheated oven, and bake for 12 minutes until golden brown.
- 5Let the finished scones cool down and serve them with strawberry jam and unsalted butter.
Tip
For baking, you will need a round cookie cutter Ø 6 cm.
