- 2 heads of lettuce
- 250 ml milk
- 40 ml vinegar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- The flavor of the salad is best highlighted in combination with fresh, light wines. Choose white or sparkling wines with juicy acidity.
Mix milk with salt, sugar, and vinegar and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
Thoroughly wash the lettuce leaves in a deep layer of ice water. Dry them, tear into smaller pieces, place in a bowl, and pour the prepared dressing over them.
Chef's tip
Separate the head of lettuce into individual leaves. Soak them in a deep layer of ice water and rinse thoroughly. Replace the water with clean water and rinse the leaves again. In a deep layer of water, sand and any soil have a place to fall off the leaves. Washing leaves of any vegetables or various types of salads under running water is not enough! Pour the dressing over the salad just before serving. Otherwise, the salad would turn grey and wilt.
