  • 500 g white cabbage
  • 100 g peeled carrots
  • 150 g mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 tbsp finely grated horseradish
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp salt

Cut out the tough core from the cabbage and slice the leaves into fine strips. Grate the carrot coarsely and set aside.

In a large bowl, mix the cabbage, salt, and sugar. Massage the seasoned cabbage with your hands to soften it slightly. Add the horseradish and mix. Mix the mayonnaise and vinegar in a small bowl and add to the cabbage. Mix well. Finally, add the carrot and mix.

Put in the fridge to chill and mix before serving.

Chef's tip

Add the carrot only at the very end so that it does not color the salad red.
