INGREDIENTS
- 500 g white cabbage
- 100 g peeled carrots
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon finely grated horseradish
- 150 g mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Cut out the tough core from the cabbage and slice the leaves into fine strips. Grate the carrots coarsely and set aside.
- 2In a large bowl, mix the cabbage, salt, and sugar. Squeeze the seasoned cabbage with your hand to partially soften it. Add horseradish and mix. In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise and vinegar, then add to the cabbage. Mix. Finally, add the carrots and mix.
- 3Chill in the refrigerator and mix before serving.
Tip
Add the carrots at the very end to prevent them from coloring the salad red.

Tip: For an especially delicate flavor, you can finish the sauce with a drop of lemon juice. Homemade spaetzle or wide noodles, which perfectly soak up the creamy sauce, are an excellent side dish.
