Preparation method
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC. Grease the baking dish with butter and dust with coarse flour.
Separate the eggs into yolks and whites. Whisk the egg whites into stiff peaks. In a stand mixer with a balloon whisk, beat the egg yolks with sugar and vanilla sugar until light and foamy. Add both types of flour mixed with baking powder. Pour in the milk and mix into a smooth batter. Remove the bowl from the mixer and gently fold in the egg white peaks by hand.
Slowly pour the batter into the greased and floured baking dish and arrange the pitted cherries on top. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
