INGREDIENTS FOR THE DOUGH

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 300 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 42 g fresh yeast
  • 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying

TOPPING INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Ketchup
  • 250 g cheddar
  • 200 g sour cream
  • Handful of fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

    In lukewarm milk, mix sugar and crumbled yeast. Let it work for 5 minutes. In a larger bowl, mix flour with salt and pour in the yeast mixture. Knead by hand into a compact dough. Cover with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 - 45 minutes.

    Chop the basil and mix with sour cream. Stir in olive oil and add more salt to taste. Crush the garlic cloves and mix with a few tablespoons of water. Grate the cheese finely.

    Once the dough has risen, knead it again and divide into 6 equal parts. Form them into smaller flatbreads and let them rise for another 10 minutes.

    Heat a thicker layer of oil in a pan. Stretch the flatbreads outwards and fry them in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.

    Serve Langoše spread with garlic, ketchup, and sprinkled with cheese. The second option is with garlic, herb sour cream, and cheese.
