INGREDIENTS
- 900 g smoked rolled pork shoulder or Prague ham
- 100 ml pineapple juice
- 1 orange
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground star anise
- Handful of whole cloves
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius - top and bottom heat. Score the ham skin in a criss-cross pattern to a depth of about half a centimeter. Insert a clove into each square.
- 2Slice one half of the orange and squeeze the juice from the other half. Mix the pineapple juice, orange juice, maple syrup, ginger, and star anise together.
- 3Arrange the orange slices in a baking dish lined with parchment paper. Place the ham shoulder on top of the oranges and pour the prepared marinade over it. Bake for approximately 1 hour. Baste the ham with the marinade every 15 minutes.
Tip
Roasted potatoes or a baguette baked in the oven are excellent as a side dish.
