INGREDIENTS FOR THE DOUGH
- 1 head of garlic
- 150 g peeled onion
- 400 g coarsely grated zucchini pulp without seeds
- 3 eggs
- 100 g coarse flour
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 120 g vegetable oil
- 12 g baking powder (1 sachet)
- 10 g salt
- 2 tablespoons dried marjoram
- 1 tablespoon ground caraway
- 200 g bacon
INGREDIENTS FOR FINISHING
- 500 g tomatoes
- 400 g bell peppers
- 200 g grated Eidam cheese 45%

INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- 2Cut the bacon into 1 cm cubes.
- 3Peel the garlic and press all cloves. Slice the onion into thin rings.
- 4Mix all dough ingredients together with the sliced onion, garlic, and bacon in a bowl. Pour the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, place it in the preheated oven, and bake for 5 minutes.
- 5Slice the tomatoes and bell peppers and arrange them over the entire surface of the pre-baked pie. Return it to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes.
- 6Remove the pie from the oven and sprinkle with grated cheese. Return to the oven and bake for another 2 minutes, until the cheese turns golden.
Tip
You will need a baking sheet measuring 33×43 cm and parchment paper.

Tip: For an especially delicate flavor, you can finish the sauce with a drop of lemon juice. Homemade spaetzle or wide noodles, which perfectly soak up the creamy sauce, are an excellent side dish.
