BIFTEKI
- 120 g feta cheese
- 50 g peeled red onion
- 2 mint leaves
- 5 flat-leaf parsley leaves
- 1 full teaspoon oregano leaves
- 1 slice toast bread, crusts removed
- freshly ground pepper
- salt
- grated zest of ¼ lemon
- 1 egg
- 300 g fatty minced beef
WINE PAIRING
- This dish is best complemented by a fresh, light wine. You can choose from sparkling, white, rosé, or red wines.
Bifteki Instructions
- 1Cut the cheese into 6 sticks, 5 cm long.
- 2Finely chop the onion. Finely chop the mint, parsley, and oregano. Place the toast bread in a bowl and pour 50 ml of water over it. Add the herbs, onion, a pinch of pepper, 1 teaspoon of salt, lemon zest, egg, and minced meat, then mix thoroughly.
- 3Divide the mixture into 6 portions. From each portion, form an oval patty, place a cheese stick in the center, and wrap the meat around it to form an oval shape.
- 4Place on a medium-hot grill and grill for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Tip
You can substitute beef with lamb. Remember, the more fatty parts you leave on the lamb, the more intense its flavor will be. Serve with tzatziki, cherry tomatoes, and finely sliced red onion.

Tip: For an especially delicate flavor, you can finish the sauce with a drop of lemon juice. Homemade spaetzle or wide noodles, which perfectly soak up the creamy sauce, are an excellent side dish.
