- 1Place the eggs in a saucepan in a single layer. Cover with cold water so that the water level is 5 cm above the eggs. Bring the water to a boil and cook for 1 minute. Then remove from heat, cover with a lid, and let stand for 12 minutes. Immediately cool the cooked eggs in ice water.
Tip
This recipe applies to any number of eggs you need to hard-boil. However, it is important that they are always cooked in a single layer and the water covers them by 5 cm.
