INGREDIENTS
- 500 g ripe tomatoes
- 500 g watermelon flesh
- 1 handful basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- 70 ml sunflower oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 3 teaspoons finely grated ginger
WINE PAIRING
- The salad's flavor is best enhanced when paired with fresh, light wines. Choose white or sparkling wines with juicy acidity.
METHOD
- 1Remove the tough cores from washed and dried tomatoes and cut the tomatoes into 3x2 cm cubes. Cut the chilled watermelon into cubes of the same size as the tomatoes. Cut the basil into strips.
- 2In a bowl, whisk together the vinegar, oil, salt, sugar, and ginger until the sugar dissolves. Add the chopped tomatoes and watermelon, mix, sprinkle with basil, and serve immediately.
